Farmbot Bags $22M to Transform Livestock Farming

Sydney’s agricultural technology company, Farmbot, raises $22 million in new investment, called a Series B funding round. The investors are providing opportunities for the company to scale and grow. Farmbot manufactures smart technology for farms, especially livestock farms. The company uses sensors connected through satellites to help farmers monitor essential things, including how much water is in farm tanks, whether water troughs have enough water, Water levels in dams, whether pumps are working, and how much rain has fallen. With this technology, farmers can check everything on their phones without needing to inspect it themselves. Farmbot app can save time, reduce unnecessary driving, save water, reduce the risk of animals running out of water, help farmers manage their farms more easily, and improve animal welfare. The company was founded in 2014 and has grown tremendously and has developed 12k+ customers across Australia, North America and other markets. In the US, Farmbot operates under the name Ranchbot. The funding was led by Lewis & Clark Partners, along with several other investors. The money raised through the funding will help the company in several things, including improving its hardware and software, hiring more people, developing more agricultural technology, and expanding internationally.
