Nestle Coffee and Snacks Drive Sales Growth in 2026

Nestle reported its financial results for the first quarter of 2026 and showed some positive signs, especially in its Food & Snacks and Coffee businesses. Overall, the company’s sales grew by 3.5% when adjusted for price and other factors (organic growth). However, total reported sales fell by about 6% from last year, reaching 21.32 billion Swiss francs.

The growth came from a mix of slightly higher sales volume (1.2%) and increased prices (2.3%). “Our performance is broad-based,” Philipp Navratil, chief executive officer, told financial analysts in a conference call on the quarterly sales results. “Almost all products sold more, but baby formula sales dropped because of a recall. By category, Coffee was the star, with recovering volumes and a positive mix.”

Chief financial officer Anna Manz said, “Food & Snacks also improved, delivering RIG above 2% for the first time since 2021.” Coffee was the best-performing category. Sales in this segment jumped 0.3% organically, driven by strong demand and higher prices. The Nescafé brand did particularly well, showing strong growth in many countries. The company said smart pricing, good marketing, and new products helped boost coffee sales.

Other business areas had mixed results. Waters and premium beverages grew by 3.3%, and pet care grew by 2.7%. However, the nutrition segment declined by 3.9%, mainly due to the infant formula issue. In the Americas region, organic sales increased by 3.8%. Food & Snacks showed improvement after two weaker years, driven by strong chocolate sales in Brazil and baking products in the United States. However, frozen food sales in the U.S. are still under pressure.

Nestle is also making changes to its business. It plans to sell its stake in Blue Bottle Coffee and is looking for buyers for its water and vitamins businesses. It is also selling its ice cream division. The company said it will focus more on its strongest brands, invest in growth areas, and continue improving its pricing and product strategies to drive future growth.
