NVIDIA Hits $5 Trillion in MCap, Surpassing India’s GDP

NVIDIA Corporation has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first company to reach a $5 trillion market capitalization, surpassing India's entire GDP of approximately $4.2 trillion. On October 29, as US markets opened, NVIDIA’s shares surged over 4%, pushing its market value to $5.05 trillion. This achievement cements NVIDIA’s status as the undisputed leader in the global AI revolution, outpacing even tech giants like Apple and Microsoft.

The company’s quick rise from a $4 trillion valuation in three months highlights AI's industry shift. NVIDIA’s growth shows the demand for AI processors for supercomputing, data centers, autonomous vehicles, and more. CEO Jensen Huang plans to secure $500 billion in AI chip orders over four years, reflecting high global demand.

NVIDIA is also expanding its role in national research and defense, unveiling plans to build seven AI supercomputers for the US Department of Energy. The company has partnered with Uber to accelerate autonomous vehicle developments and invested $1 billion in Nokia to develop next-generation 6G networks, broadening its influence into telecommunications and edge AI computing.

Since its IPO in 1999, when its market cap was below $1 billion, NVIDIA has set numerous valuation milestones, reflecting its evolution from a GPU manufacturer to an AI infrastructure powerhouse. Its valuation soared from under $1 billion to $10 billion in 2007, $1 trillion in 2024, $2 trillion by March 2024, and $3 trillion by June 2024. The recent $4 trillion mark was reached in July 2025, and now, in October 2025, it stands as the first company in history to hit $5 trillion.

NVIDIA’s exponential growth illustrates the rapid adoption of AI, marking a new era in global technology leadership and transforming industries worldwide.
