In July, Oracleand OpenAI announced their plans to build 4.5 gigawatts of data centre capacity as part of the broader Project Stargate, which also includes SoftBank and former President Trump.
While the announcement did not detail OpenAI’s financial investment in the project, recent reports indicate that the $300 billion deal is set to begin in 2027 officially.
Alongside expected revenues of $12.7 billion, OpenAI is reportedly leading a $10 billion initiative with Broadcom to develop custom AI semiconductor technology.
