US Farmers to Get $12 Bn in Aid From Trump Administration

The Trump administration plans to unveil a new aid package for farmers on Monday, according to a White House official. The package will include a $12 aid package for farmers affected by low crop prices and President Trump’s tariff policies.

According to a report by the Economic Times, the aid will include $11 billion in one-time payments that will go straight to farmers through the Department of Agriculture’s newly designed Farmer Bridge Assistance (FBA) Program. At the same time, the remaining budget will be allocated for crops not covered under the FBA.

POTUS Donald Trump will announce an event with corn, cotton, sorghum, soybean, rice, cattle, wheat and potato farmers. The event will also host Treasury Secretary Scott Besent and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins.

Farming communities throughout the nation were among the few that overwhelmingly voted for President Trump in the 2024 elections and have seen export markets for many crops dry up, as the federal safety net shrank in the president’s second term. This is especially burdensome for Soybean farmers, as a majority of their exports pretty much halted after Chinese exports completely dwindled earlier this year.

However, soybean exports have gained some traction since the last week of October, when leaders of both countries reached an agreement. According to various sources, last month China made its biggest daily buy of American soybeans in two years.
