Trump Issues Stark Warning to Russia Over Ukraine Deal

US President Donald Trump cautioned Russian President Vladimir Putin about “severe consequences” if Russia hinders peace efforts in Ukraine. Ahead of their talks in Alaska, Trump suggested possible sanctions but did not provide details. He called the meeting a first step toward a future summit with Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy.

Trump stated that he will plan out the second meeting as well if everything goes alright between two nations in conflict. He blamed Biden for previous conflicts and wars and stated that it would have never happened if he was in charge.

He also emphasized his immense ability to disseminate peace and harmony around the globe and took responsibility for it. His noble works include terminating several wars and eradicating the nuclear capability of Iran.

The warning followed a high-level virtual meeting with Zelenskyy and EU leaders, hosted by Germany, where firm positions were set ahead of the Alaska talks.

French President Macron said Trump agreed that Ukraine's land can't be given up without its permission and supported safety promises for Ukraine after the war.

German Chancellor Merz said borders must be respected and warned that if Russia doesn't cooperate in Alaska, the US and Europe should increase pressure, an approach Trump truly appreciates.

The Alaska meeting aims to discuss Europe’s biggest war since WWII. Trump’s past idea of a land deal to stop the war has worried Kyiv and European leaders. Before the virtual meeting, Zelenskyy told allies in Berlin that Putin’s recent gains in eastern Ukraine are meant to pressure Kyiv.

Officials are looking forward to this meeting and expecting a fruitful outcome. The European Government has welcomed the proactiveness of Trump with open hearts but strictly denied any decision without the involvement of Ukraine.
