YouTube Restores Service After Brief Streaming Glitch

YouTube announced on Tuesday that it has resolved the issue that briefly disrupted access to its video-sharing platform. This issue was first highlighted by the outage-tracking website Downdetector, which reported widespread disruption affecting users worldwide.

According to YouTube, this problem is caused by a fault in its recommendation system. Because of this issue, videos did not display properly across sections of the platform, making it difficult for users to find and watch content during the outage.

At the peak of the disruption, Downdetector recorded more than 320,000 user reports from the United States about this particular YouTube issue. These figures are based on reports submitted directly to the tracking website during the disruption.

Downdetector also noted that its data is based on user-submitted reports, which means the actual number of users affected may not exactly match the reported total and could vary.

Beyond the United States, YouTube users in several other countries were affected. Downdetector reported significant user issues in India, Britain, Australia, and Mexico, indicating the service interruption was felt across multiple regions before YouTube restored normal operations.
