Farm4Profit Media Wins Inaugural MACA Industry Impact

The Mid America CropLife Association presented its first-ever Industry Impact of the Year Award to Farm4Profit Media, an agricultural media company operating out of a converted Casey's General Store in Slater, Iowa. MACA President Aaron Deardorff handed out the award on September 10, 2026, during the association's annual meeting in Omaha, Nebraska, according to a report published by PR Newswire M&A on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026.

Midwest Crop Protection Association Recognition

MACA evaluates candidates for the honor based on sustained impact in advancing agriculture through leadership, advocacy, innovation, education, public policy, communications, and industry collaboration. The non-profit trade group represents crop protection members across 13 Midwestern states, focusing its work on crop production research, health, safety, and public education. Farm4Profit Media is the inaugural recipient of the distinction.

The agricultural media company reaches more than 400,000 followers across multiple channels. According to the announcement, the enterprise has generated over 111 million social media impressions, 59 million YouTube views, and more than 6 million podcast downloads. The flagship Farm4Profit Podcast ranks inside Spotify's top 1% of video podcasts, having produced more than 700 episodes featuring hundreds of producers, innovators, and industry leaders.

Banking Background Shapes Editorial Focus

Chief executive officer Tanner Winterhof co-founded the company in 2014 after spending 15 years reading farm financial statements as a loan officer and commercial banker in central Iowa. He launched the podcast in June 2019 alongside co-hosts Corey Hillebo and David Whitaker. That financial background steered the show's programming toward business metrics like working capital, cost per acre, interest expense, and succession planning.

The team records content at Studio 205, a production facility built inside a former Casey's General Store in Slater, a town of about 1,400 residents. Media enterprises examining rural economic shifts often note how modern independent platforms scale operations outside traditional urban media hubs. Winterhof noted that traditional agricultural sectors are taking notice of these unvarnished financial discussions, highlighting the changing nature of agricultural knowledge sharing.

"A farmer might not pull out his balance sheet at the coffee shop, but he'll sit down and talk about what worked, what didn't and what it cost him," Tanner Winterhof said. "The fact that the traditional ag industry is recognizing those conversations with an impact award tells you just how powerful this medium has become. This award says something bigger than just recognizing a podcast. It shows that agriculture has changed how it shares knowledge. Farmers are willing to have real conversations about money, mistakes and what's actually working, and those conversations are helping other farms make better decisions."

Touring and Disaster Relief Operations

Production for the media company during 2026 relied heavily on live events and conference reporting. The winter tour traveled to the U.S. Custom Harvesters convention, the New York Corn & Soybean Growers annual meeting, CattleCon in Nashville, the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, and Commodity Classic in San Antonio. That tour included an interview with the USDA undersecretary for farm production and conservation.

Beyond standard programming, the organization has leveraged its listener base for emergency response efforts. The company raised $48,412 for tornado relief in Iowa and Nebraska during 2024 and adjusted its broadcast priorities following the 2020 derecho that swept across central Iowa. Farm4Profit Media produces the Farm4Profit Podcast along with video, live events, and marketing partnerships for agribusiness, operating entirely from its headquarters in Slater.
