Greenberg Traurig Adds Investment Management Lawyer Sandler

Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP expanded its corporate and transactional leadership ranks on Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, by naming Sherry J. Sandler as a shareholder, Long Island Corporate Practice co-chair, and firmwide Investment Management Group co-chair. According to a report by PR Newswire M&A, the appointment brings nearly 25 years of transactional, regulatory, and in-house leadership experience to the firm, strengthening its capabilities at the intersection of investment management, securities regulation, and corporate transactions.

From NYSE Senior Counsel to Firmwide Co-Chair

Ms. Sandler joins Greenberg Traurig from Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone, LLP, where she served as co-chair of the Corporate/Business Group and founded and led that firm's Investment Management and Funds practice. Her career began in the Global Corporate Group at Milbank LLP, where she advised clients on mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions. She subsequently spent more than a decade in senior in-house legal and compliance roles at Rodman & Renshaw investment bank, the Knight Capital Americas/KCG Holdings broker-dealer and global financial services firm, and the New York Stock Exchange. She also launched her own trading and capital markets advisory firm serving financial institutions, investment firms, and Fortune 500 companies.

Executive Chairman Richard A. Rosenbaum noted that Ms. Sandler brings a multidimensional leadership background well suited for expansion. "She has led businesses from legal, regulatory, and compliance perspectives, while building a sophisticated investment management practice," Mr. Rosenbaum said. "Her track record of building capabilities, mentoring talent, and driving growth makes her exceptionally well suited to help lead and grow our Investment Management Group." The addition reinforces broader institutional momentum, coming as Greenberg Traurig named among BTI's most feared law firms in litigation for 2027 maintains its standing across major industry benchmarks.

Cross-Border Expansion Across New York and Florida

In her new roles, Ms. Sandler will help the Investment Management Group scale its regulatory and fund capabilities, mentor emerging talent, and deepen collaboration across the firm's Corporate, Private Equity, Private Wealth Services, Financial Regulatory and Compliance, and Capital Markets practices. Long Island Co-Managing Shareholder John P. McEntee emphasized that Ms. Sandler understands the regional business community and will connect local corporate capabilities with the global platform. Following her admission to the Florida Bar, Ms. Sandler also plans to work in the firm's West Palm Beach office to support financial services and corporate growth in South Florida.

West Palm Beach Managing Shareholder Tracy L. Gerber highlighted the strategic importance of the South Florida market. "Sherry's experience advising investment managers, broker-dealers, wealth management firms, and family offices will be a tremendous asset as we continue serving clients throughout the region's expanding financial ecosystem," Ms. Gerber said. Ms. Sandler's practice encompasses fund formation, securities regulation, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, capital markets, and corporate governance matters, alongside serving as primary outside counsel for complex multidisciplinary engagements.

Ms. Sandler earned her juris doctor, magna cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School and her bachelor of arts, magna cum laude, from Emory University. She is admitted to practice in New York, serves on the board of advisors for Women in Funds, and acts as a member and Wolfpack leader with Women in Financial Markets. She is also scheduled to receive the Long Island Business News Leadership in Law Award on Nov. 10.
