SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — The payments company is trying to make on-chain settlement look like just another payout method.

A large U.S. bank has circulated an internal memo on how it would custody and settle Stripe-initiated stablecoin payouts, according to two people who have seen the draft — a necessary bore if the product is going to clear compliance.
